MISSION STATEMENT

Our learning community, Wallace & Priscilla Stevenson Intermediate School, empowers students to be successful in a culture of safety, cooperation, curiosity, and challenge. We believe in nurturing and valuing innovative problem solvers who are inspired to be a positive contributing force in our local and global communities.

Wallace and Priscilla Stevenson Intermediate School (WSPIS) is the newest of the White Salmon Valley Schools. It opened in 2014 and serves grades 5 and 6.

The school day begins at 7:45 when the doors open and breakfast is served in the cafeteria. Classes start at 8:15 AM. On regular days, our school day ends at 3:10 PM, but on Mondays, it ends at 1:45 so staff can participate in professional development.

In addition to being in the classroom with a general education teacher, students participate in physical education every other day. On the day opposite PE, they have music (5th grade only), art, or computer classes that rotate each trimester. We also have a band program, but students who choose to participate in the band will rotate between PE and band every other day.
