Family Update
The CDC revised its guidance on Friday March 19 to recommend establishing three feet of physical distance between people in school settings. Previous guidance encouraged establishing school policies and implementing interventions to promote a physical distance of at least 6 feet between people.
This revised guidance is exciting news for our school district and the students we serve. However, before we can make changes to adapt to the three-foot guidance, there are a number of things that must take place, one of which is the Washington State Department of Health must adopt the new CDC guidance.
We know students are excited to be back in the classroom and families are eager to begin this transition. Please know that our school team will be working to carefully plan using the new guidance if approved by the state to ensure school environments are safe for students and staff.
Ultimately, schools must follow state and local guidance. White Salmon Valley School District is excited about the possibility of moving to more in person time for our students. We will get more information out as soon as we receive updates from the state.
Thank you,
Dr. Jerry Lewis, Superintendent
