Family Tech Talk Event: Content Overview The session is designed for parents and will focus on a wide-range of topics organized into 4pillars:
• Be Online – overview of how to set the right environment, rules, and example for our families. Discussion of tech tools and best practices to support family online safety and wellness.
• Be Safe – overview of how to help our family protect their privacy, personal information, and physical selves. Discuss risks on social media, gaming, scams, strangers and how to avoid them.
• Be Kind – covers what it means to be kind to others, but also to oneself. Includes bullying, how to encourage kindness/respect, and what to do if your child is the bully.
• Be Savvy – discussion about how kids SHOULD use technology (vs. what NOT to do with it. Ideas and best practices on ways kids can use the internet in positive ways, and it can be used to learn, pursue interests, showcase their stengths and likes, and do good in the world.
